About Me

Ms. Krasovec has performed on such prominent stages as the Metropolitan Opera, Spoleto Festival USAWeill Hall/Carnegie HallNational Theater of Prague and Theater Bremen in Germany.  Recent and upcoming roles include Eleanor Roosevelt in Aikman's Peacemakers, Mrs. Sedley in Peter Grimes, Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro and Scholar in Glass' Kepler.

Acclaimed by Opera News for her "pert and feisty" performance and "creamy lyric voice", American Mezzo Kathryn Krasovec has been widely recognized for her dramatic intensity and vocal nuance.

This season, Ms. Krasovec  made her Princeton Festival debut singing Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro and her Carnegie Hall debut at Weill Hall performing Mohammed Fairouz's Audenesque with The Mimesis Ensemble conducted by Scott Dunn. The work is for Mezzo Soprano and Chamber Orchestra.

She also recently made her Spoleto USA debut in Philip Glass' Kepler in a career which spans Europe, North America and the Middle East.

Kathryn KrasovecAfter winning the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, she made her Metropolitan Opera debut as a Woodsprite in Rusalka, performed the roles of Blumenmädchen and Knappen in Parsifal and covered the role of Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She became a member of Das Theater Trier in Germany through a fest contract where she spent three seasons. Among her notable European accomplishments was the debut of Frid’s Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank in the role of Anne Frank with the Prague State Opera as well as being the first American to sing the title role in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen and the British Dancing Girl in John Adams’ The Death of Klinghoffer at the National Theater of Prague. Ms. Krasovec later reprised the role of The Cunning Little Vixen at Theater Bremen.

Ms. Krasovec has had many role debuts including: Siebel in Faust, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Carmen in La tragédie de Carmen, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel and Dorabella in Così fan tutte.

Within the contemporary world she has made debuts with the New York City Opera VOX Series, the Center for Contemporary Opera in NYC and the International Opera Theater in Philadelphia and Italy. Ms. Krasovec created roles in The DeCameron, Griselda and the Marchese di Saluzzo, The Curious Habit of Madre Usimbalda, Federigo and His Falcon, Blood Wedding, Korczak’s Orphans and Dinner and Delusion. She recently appeared at Le Poisson Rouge in Missy Mazzoli’s A Song From The Uproar presented by Beth Morrison Projects.

Ms. Krasovec was a member of the Juilliard Opera Center and the San Francisco Opera Merola Program.
